ANTON – the name of the locals for the old powerstation Kraftwerk Bille in Hamburg Hammerbrook has been abandoned for many years. It is the oldest powerstation in Hamburg still mostly intact, buildt around the turn of the century of 1900. Scheduled for demolition, creative protest came to the rescue and the owner decided to bring it to a new destiny, calling for new ideas to utilize the building complex. To celebrate the special character of the building, an illumination of the main block was realized by LUMIDIUM in cooperation with city planning bureau and art agency überNormalNull and projection artist Katrin Bethge – a fascinating project with great results. Enjoy some clips about it here, more pics and views on the dedicated ANTON Blog.
